Oil Painting, 'Lady in a Red Dress' (Mrs Sophie Holman, Dorothy Holman's mother) by Nathaniel Hughes John Baird (1865-1936). Sophie's maiden name was Andrew. Her father Thomas Andrew was Mayor of Exeter in 1881.
Nathaniel Baird exhibited both portraits and rural scenes at the Royal Academy He made 24 watercolour paintings of the picturesque antiquities of Exeter which are now in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
