Brief description

Rowing boat/Frame Dinghy, 'Nelson', A six-foot model of the Holman vessel, the Mary Ann Holman, was built by Charlie Trout, (a brother of Daniel Charles Trout) while on a voyage on her around Cape Horn. The Mary Ann Holman was a barque of 270 tons and built in Topsham in 1859, the same year as Charlie was born, so she must have been quite an elderly vessel by the time of the Cape Horn voyage. Charlie’s great nephew Daniel James Trout donated this model to Topsham Museum, “the children kept playing with it in the river and it was starting to leak!” white with blue gunwale.
